How your Donations Are Used

As described in our Mission Statement the money we raise is used to benefit the patients being treated in the PICU at ChaD and their families.

We have begun to distribute funds to help. This year we purchased prepaid telephone cards to be given to the families so they can keep in touch with others easily. We have also purchased food vouchers that can be used at ChaD.

We have also purchased two portable recliners that fold out into beds to give the parents and family members some comfort when they are staying in the room with their child.

For the patients and their siblings we have purchased a Starlight Fun Center. This is a portable gaming/dvd station that will give the patients and their siblings a much needed diversion during treatment.

We have also begun a decorating program with the goal of redecorating the PICU in a more child friendly way. The decorations include fun removable wall stickers and painted ceiling tiles. Thsi will soften up the industrial atmosphere of the PICU.
