Fred received world class around the clock care. His doctors and nurses were very caring, compassionate, professional and skilled. His family was also treated in the same manner.

Unfortunately, even with this great care Fred could not be saved. In the early morning hours of September 14, 2005, Fred succumbed to his illness.

Fred’s family and friends are grateful for the fact that they know everything that could be done for him, and for us, was done. It is because of their extraordinary efforts, tirelessness and perseverance that we, as Fred’s family and friends, are able to carry on with no regrets about Fred’s care.

Fred’s family and friends have not forgotten the great care he received and in spring 2007 Fred’s Fund was formed in appreciation of the effort of the people of Chad and the PICU.
